John McCain and Sarah Palin - too stupid to know what they're doing is wrong?

Even though he was a total failure in school, I get the sense that McCain is smart enough to know what he's doing is wrong.

Palin though, being a confirmed mental midget, and having an absolute joke of an education, is definitely too stupid to know. Actually, she's about as dumb as the idiots showing up at her rallies right now. If not dumber.

Regardless of their limited intellects, both are obviously lacking a strong moral compass, one which would have pointed them away from this immoral and un-American garbage.

Three more weeks. If we can make it. Three more weeks.

Get it through your thick skulls people. It doesn't matter which two-party puppet wins. They are both the same and both represent the same global corporate elite.

Wrong? Maybe so. But they are only following orders.

Do some people really believe that Barack Hussein Obama and his entourage are going to be welcomed into the White House by the international bankers who control the country?

McCain and Palin are doing everything in their power to convince their followers that Obama is a terrorist. We can now see the simmering hatred that is festering in the majority of people who call themselves Americans.

This is exactly what Hitler did to gain power. Demagogues always pander to the prejudice and emotions of the masses to win power quickly. After that, a scapegoat is selected as the focal point for all of the hatred being generated.

Americans see their country disintegrating and they have found their scapegoat.

Here's a little tidbit:

She is a chatty sportscaster who lacks the guile to conceal her vacuity, and she was Mr. McCain's first major decision as nominee. This troubles independent voters, and now she is a major drag on his candidacy. She will get a nice book deal from Regnery and a new career making personal appearances for forty grand a pop, and she'll become a trivia question, "What politician claimed foreign-policy expertise based on being able to see Russia from her house?" And the rest of us will have to pull ourselves out of the swamp of Republican economics.

Your broker kept saying, "Stay with the portfolio, don't jump ship," and you felt a strong urge to dump the stocks and get into the money market where at least you're not going to lose your shirt, but you didn't do it and didn't do it, and now you're holding a big bag of brown bananas. Me, too. But at least I know enough not to believe desperate people who are talking trash.

Anybody who got whacked last week and still thinks McCain-Palin is going to lead us out of the swamp and not into a war with Iran is beyond persuasion in the English language. They'll need to lose their homes and be out on the street in a cold hard rain before they connect the dots.

Garrison Keillor is the author of a new Lake Wobegon novel, "Liberty" (Viking).

Nice. Very Nice.

Frank, what do you think? Jerk.

Palin is a straight up facist. Right out of Hitler's school of moral degradation.

McCain is worse. He is an old dude who really hasn't grown up. He's still rebelling against his daddy. He still thinks of himself as a ladies man (there's an old phrase for you).

He still thinks he's got game. Game over dude!

His immaturity is dangerous and scary. Retire this guy to Arizona where he can live out his days in his 7 homes.

So tell me, are you leading the Sgt. Fury forces to take back America? How many recruits do you have? What's our first move?

What are my options?

Am I supposed to
a) not vote
b) vote for..Barr, Nader, Paul..who?
c) leave the country
d) watch American Idol & Dancing With The Stars
e) buy a new iPod and turn up the volume

When was the last time a 3rd Party candidate won a presidential election?

Does your exasperation (which I too often feel), have any practical value?

Want to see who McCain/Palin sound like? Take a DeLorean to Germany, set the time to the early 1930s and hit 88mph. Go to a Hitler rally and listen.

V.L. has some good points. The paleoconservative elites that backed Hitler thought they could control him, and their support gave him the very slim majority needed for victory. They unleashed a monster and destroyed Germany. It could happen here, with Rove and Cheney hoping McCain will die in office and President Palin will be the puppet ruler of their wildest wet dreams (and Grover Norqist's as well). The sheeple metaphor holds. Germans were too trusting of authority, and we are starting to get nearly that bad here. It could happen here, and if it does, there will be many species of "scapegoat" for Sarah the Apostle to go after.

Just hope Obama gets elected and has massive special security the whole time.
No, the establishment will fight him the whole way, but he will win in the end because he is patient, creative and smart.
The people who hate him are truly terrifying. It is becoming a lynch mob mentality.
I wish I could calm down and figure out what they are so afraid of.
I just remember when Tiger Woods won his first Masters, and those old white guys who helped him on with his green jacket for the first time had such a look of revulsion and shock and disdain in their faces.
And I remember the first episodes of Oprah in the early 80's and how nobody knew who she was for a long time. But she was great from the start. Better then she is today.
Anyway, now both of these people are an established part of the American landscape.
When I first heard Obama speak at the democratic convention in '04, figured I was the only one who realized that this was a clear, sane voice making sense of the darkness. Couldn't stop talking about him the next day.
Obama is the same calibur, only for the presidency and in politics which we so desperately need change in right now.
I am going to pray.

Secret Service who were at the rally where "kill him " was yelled out have said no such thing happened and that reporter who said he did hear it is either lying or just wrong but it doesn't matter because media said it happened Oberman said it happened and our friend keith believes it happened so I guess it happened, but this election is not over yet so we shall see.

My sister's husband works for the secret service. YES it is true KILL HIM was yelled out not only once. I have one little suggestion, stop getting your news from Fox News.
My sister's husband said government office watch c-span and CNN for news coverage. He said everyone knows Fox News is a joke and they clearly know who the targeted audience is! Its kind of funny when you think about it.

Sara Palin reminds me of that happy, popular, airhead in school who cheated off your test and then flashed you a smile and a wink later (as if that made it all okay). No, Sara Palin is definitely not smart enough to have a clue!

As for McCain, "that one" USED to be smart enough to know what he was doing, but the very fact that he selected Palin as his running mate and the fact that he seems to be reciting talking points directly from FOX NEWS PROVES that he has become too senile or unstable to realize what he is doing now!

Don't worry folks, there are more smart people than Stupid, Greedy, and/or Racist people; even in the south. I am sure of this; I see it every day. I am a southern white female, previously Republican, and I will be VOTING OBAMA as are all my white female friends and relatives! (I don't know about the men, but, no problem; we outnumber them!)

I predict a LANDSLIDE for Obama and an election that can be called by 9pm est on election day! (I have NEVER called one wrong and I started with Jimmy CARTER!) CS in NC
