[Repost from HP June 2008] - HousingPANIC would like to congratulate Barack Hussein Obama on winning the Presidency of the United States of America

In light of current events, as well as the the thumping McCain/Palin is taking in the projected electoral count as of tonight, I thought I'd repost this thread from HousingPANIC back in June to get some new perspectives.

Have at it.

__

(You get tomorrow's news today here at HP, so figured we'd skip forward a few months and just let you know how it's gonna be just a bit down the road...)

__

HP'ers, please join me in wishing President-elect Obama well after his landslide win tonight.

Even though we may disagree with some of his policies, the nation has overwhelmingly voted for a change, and change we will now have.

Also a big congratulations goes out to the voters for putting the past awful eight years and The Worst President Ever behind us, allowing for a re-introduction of the American brand to the world.

These are exciting and historic days for our nation, but oh, what a mess Obama and the overwhelmingly Democratic-controlled Congress will have on their hands. Let's see if they're up to the task. And hey, they can't possibly screw it up worse than the Republicans did. Right?

John McCain debates John McCain on the Casey Serin Angelo Mozilo Housing Gambler Banker Bailout Bill of 2008

Too bad that thing called "truth" eventually gets in the way of those people called "liars". Eventually.

Did you ever think that one political party, and one incompetent leader, could wreck a country as powerful and secure as America in such a short time?

I mean, we're only talking eight years.

Who knew that was long enough to loot the treasury, destroy the image, devastate the military, demoralize the people, and financially plunder the land?

Eight short years.

Amazing.

Cafferty destroys Sarah Palin (Idiot) again. Nice to see some sane people in America stand up to this outrage (no matter how darn adorable she is)

A message for George W. Bush on the behalf of 80% of the American people, and 100% of the world

Screw you.

And good riddance.

(and the same goes for the entire House and Senate too)

The good news: Sarah Palin looks like she'll stick around through the election. The bad news? She'll stick around through the election.

And then back to Alaska, after a resounding defeat by a population who finally woke up and saw through the BS.

But thanks for playing.

And thank you John McCain and the Republican Party for endangering America again. Par for the course, since you've already recklessly wrecked America.

Politics above Country. McCain/Palin 2008.

(side note - wasn't she just adorable! It'd be nice if she'd have answered the questions asked, but gosh, she was just soooo cute! Nice job Sarah!)

Palin and Biden on Cheney

Watch CBS Videos Online

Too bad America had to waste 90 minutes without a good question or a real debate tonight.

At least Couric asked some good ones.

Loved this video. Again, showed how stupid Palin truly is. Habeas Corpus? Illegal wiretapping? Secret oil company meetings? Launching a war on false pretenses? Destroying the image of America abroad?

Nope.

Duck hunting.

Unreal.

Shocking unseen footage from the Palin / Biden debate

October 2, 2008

Can John McCain, Sarah Palin, George Bush and Dick Cheney go away fast enough?

A) No, thank you sir, may I have another

B) Yes. Go away now. Please. You've done enough damage.

Sarah Palin. Idiot. A joke. Ignorant. A fool. Ignoramus. Intellectually incurious. Dangerously unqualified. And still McCain's VP choice.

Obama's Senate speech on the bailout

Now that the bill has passed, he needs to call for the arrest of Angelo Mozilo, Michael Perry and the gang of thieves who got us into this mess.

The public is ready for blood.

And blood they better have.

I can't believe this day has come. Sarah Palin (Idiot) is being sent by the McCain campaign to the VP debate. Oh, yes, this should be fun.

Tonight will be politicaltainment like you've never seen. Palin will look adorable, she'll have all kinds of great talking points and charming little memorized zingers to work in (regardless of the question asked), and unintelligent and shallow people all over America will think she did just fine.

It will be like watching American Idol, quite frankly.

But hopefully after the debate, people will read the transcript. And realize that she has no original thoughts. That she's a mental midget and intellectually stunted. That she's ignorant, unintelligent and dangerously unqualified to be President.

But don't take it from me. Here's the GOP on their own ticket. Enjoy.

"She (Palin) is dangerously ignorant and unprepared for the job of vice president, let alone president. It's scary to think that this person could be running the country."

- Fareed Zakaria

"(Palin is) obviously not qualified to be President"

- George Will

"Gov. Palin has been given a set of talking points by campaign advisers, simple ideological mantras that she repeats and repeats as long as she can."

- Fareed Zakaria

“I am prepared. I am prepared. I need no on-the-job training. I wasn’t a mayor for a short period of time. I wasn’t a governor for a short period of time.”

- John McCain

Racism and Religion - brilliantly used by the GOP in the past. Will the 2008 election be the end of that road?

In 2005, the former chairman of the GOP - Ken Mehmlan, apologized for his party's use of racism to win elections. He admitted it, he apologized, and he asked his members to move on.

The GOP hasn't apologized for crassly using religion as a wedge issue in order to win elections. That will come. One day.

The destruction of the GOP is at hand. The 2008 election will show them the door. They'll come back I hope, years later as a reformed party. Or they'll just go away.

But one thing they'll come to understand is that their use of racism and religion in order to distract the American people is over.

The housing crash and economic meltdown finally woke 'em up.

Too bad it had to come to that.

John McCain: "I'd like to tell you I did anticipate it (the housing crash) but I have to give you straight talk, I did not"

Get your story straight McCain.

America can't stand liars. Or people who try to take credit for things that they should not.

October 1, 2008

Obama is going to blow out McCain in a few weeks. Blow out. Not even close in the electoral. So for the "McCain will win" crowd, what's the spin?

Seriously? I want to know.

A lot of you have predicted that McCain would win. You were wrong. You were embarrassingly wrong.

So, after it's all over, what will your spin be?

1) The GOP lost on purpose knowing how bad it's gonna get
2) You hated McCain anyway
3) The MSM fixed the election
4) Obama ran a dishonest race
5) Palin lost you the election
6) ????

Have at it. Let us know how you'll justify your lack of political insight.

A good chunk of Americans are frankly insane. Sarah Palin is one of them.

AmericaPANIC joins in calling for Gwen Ifill to immediately step aside as moderator for Vice President Debate tomorrow night.

Having Ifill moderate this 'debate', given her pro-Obama book coming out in 2009, is unacceptable, and even if she used good judgment and was 'unbiased', her presence alone would cause viewers to assume bias.

AP calls for her to immediately step down and be replaced, perhaps with Tom Brokaw, Brian Williams, Christiane Amanpour, or Andrea Mitchell.

America deserves debates with hard-hitting, unbiased moderators.

Ifill is unacceptable.

I'm John McCain, and I'm a defensive, prickly, angry and dangerously misguided ass. Please vote for me.

The Palin debacle should be over within hours now folks, as the adults in the GOP move to have her ousted. George Will and Fareed Zakaria pile on.

"She (Palin) is dangerously ignorant and unprepared for the job of vice president, let alone president. It's scary to think that this person could be running the country."

-
Fareed Zakaria, right wing GOP columnist and adult, unlike the immature reckless children who surround him, speaking correctly about Sarah Palin (Idiot), September 2008

"(Palin is) obviously not qualified to be President"

- George Will, guru of the Republican party, September 2008

September 30, 2008

Here's your new GOP ticket folks. McCain/Rudy. You heard it here first.

This makes it interesting, grabs the news cycle, unleashes the Rudy pit bull on Obama, and energizes a depressed and demoralized GOP. Even if the far-right hates it.

And their excuse - Palin needs to spend time with her baby and preggers daughter, and didn't anticipate the cruelty and unfairness of the left-wing press and blogs - will also send the Fox News crowd into a tizzy.

So, we've got ourselves a race again. One with four adults. Two of them are Class-A pricks, but it's a race.

Obama still wins. But at least McCain made it interesting again. And showed America that an incompetent, unqualified, ignorant fool should never be considered for VP again.

(note - this is just speculation... but it's fun, eh?)

And then, during the biggest economic crisis in America since the Great Depression, the country realized that they were on their own, leaderless.

1) Wreck America - check

2) When the sh*t really hits the fan, slink into your cave and fail to lead - check

I honestly don't know what Bush's problem is. A ninth grader would be a better leader than he is today. A paid actor would be a better leader than he is being today.

He is a total and complete failure, letting his country down, and cementing his place in history as the worst and most destructive president of all time.

And America, thanks to him, is in a world of hurt.

January can't come soon enough. The destructive presidency of George W. Bush cannot end soon enough.

John McCain. A shadow of his former self. Unrecognizable. Desperate. Angry. Mean. Cynical. And a candidacy in full and devastating decline.

I felt it was my patriotic duty to help tear this campaign down.

I think my work here is nearly done.

This race, and the McCain candidacy, is over.

And after it's over, John McCain should apologize to the American people for running the most disgusting and reckless campaign in American political history.

FLASH: Right wing guru Zakaria calls McCain's selection of Palin "Fundamentally irresponsible", calls Palin "dangerously ignorant" and "scary"

And the pressure builds.

The ONLY way McCain keeps this race competitive is to dump Palin now. Today. This minute.

McCain himself should now withdraw, for making such a stupid and reckless pick. He is an embarrassment to himself, to his party and to his country. And the GOP supporters who still support Sarah Palin should also be embarrassed and ashamed. They're as stupid and dangerously ignorant as Sarah Palin. Which is saying a lot.

It's nice to see there are still a few adults left in the Republican party. Unlike Hannity and Rush and all the other idiots who fell in line behind Palin, the dumbest and most unqualified vice presidential pick of all time.

Zakaria: McCain's VP decision is 'fundamentally irresponsible'

In a column appearing in Newsweek, world affairs expert and author Fareed Zakaria said he thinks it would be best for Republican presidential hopeful John McCain if Gov. Sarah Palin bowed out as his vice presidential running mate.

Zakaria says McCain did not put the country first in making his V.P. choice, and he says Palin is not qualified to lead the United States.

CNN spoke to him about his commentary titled, "Palin is ready? Please."

CNN: What did you initially think when Sarah Palin was announced as the Republican vice presidential nominee?

Zakaria: I was a bit surprised -- as I think most people were. But I was willing to give her a chance. And I thought her speech at the convention was clever and funny. But once she began answering questions about economics and foreign policy, it became clear that she has simply never thought about these subjects before and is dangerously ignorant and unprepared for the job of vice president, let alone president.

CNN: You don't think she is qualified?

Zakaria: No. Gov. Palin has been given a set of talking points by campaign advisers, simple ideological mantras that she repeats and repeats as long as she can. But if forced off those rehearsed lines, what she has to say is often, quite frankly -- nonsense. Just listen to her response to Katie Couric's question about the bailout. It's gibberish -- an emptying out of catchphrases about economics that have nothing to do with the question or the topic. It's scary to think that this person could be running the country.

A Special AmericaPANIC Message to the People of NV, ID, MT, AK, WY, TX, ND, SD, NE, KS, OK, MO, AR, LA, MA, AL, GA, FL, SC, TN, KY, WV, IN and OH

Pull your ignorant heads out of your asses.

Look around. Take in the view.

OK. Have you done that yet?

Fine.

Now, who's been in charge of Congress for six of the past eight years?

Who's controlled the White House and Supreme Court for all eight years?

So, no matter how much you hate those fags and love your jesus, are you satisfied with the results of your 2000 and 2004 votes? Are you better off today than you were eight years ago? Is your town? Is America?

Seriously, for maybe the first time in your life, pull your heads out of your asses.

You killed America.

You got tricked into voting against your own self-interests. You have blood on your hands in Iraq. And you enabled the greatest financial meltdown since the Great Depression. All because you hate those fags and love your jesus.

You were taken for fools.

And you still are.

And it's time for you to pull your heads out of your asses.

McCain is a disaster. Palin is an idiot and a joke. Put them together, and it truly leaves you dumbfounded and speechless.

The good news? Only a few more weeks of these jokers and then the fall off the stage.

Goodbye. Thanks for playing.

Here's Matt Damon's classic rant against Sarah Palin (Idiot)

Usually I can't stand celebrities talking about politics.

This is not one of those sometimes. Damon is spot on.

And I cannot believe John McCain is so cruel as to send Palin into the debate on Thursday. I still cannot see that happening.

Here's the Obama / McCain debate - SNL version

September 29, 2008

John McCain throws more fuel on the fire he created

John McCain is now just a footnote in history. Dead Man Walking.

His own party threw him over the bus.

And a nice classy move here by saying Obama infused partisan politics into this bailout debacle. Uh, wasn't it McCain who "suspended" his campaign so he could parachute back into DC (after not voting since Spring 2008) to muck this all up, while having a nice photo-op in the White House?

McCain. What a disaster.

Here's McCain's hack and Fox News complaining about the potential to ask Sarah Palin (Idiot) hard questions on Thursday. Assuming she shows up.

And remember, asking her any tough questions, or hell, asking her any questions at all, is sexist. Women shouldn't have to answer questions if they want to be President. Just the men.

Palin. Idiot.

When you have an unlimited credit line, and control of the printing press, this is what you get

Dick Morris goes off message on Fox News. Sean Hannity thank god is there to "correct" him.

Morris better be careful. He does want to get paid at the end of the night, right?

Morris: "I have to say that, unfortunately, that Obama won this debate"

Hannity: "I don't know what debate you were watching Dick"

It was also funny to see Hannity go off on Obama regurgitating 'fed' lines from advisers. Because obviously he hasn't seen this.

Man, it must suck to be Hannity. Still selling snake oil after it sickened the nation.

AmericaPANIC Quote of the Day

"That’s why I say I, like every American I’m speaking with, were ill about this position that we have been put in where it is the taxpayers looking to bail out. But ultimately, what the bailout does is help those who are concerned about the health-care reform that is needed to help shore up our economy, helping the—it’s got to be all about job creation, too, shoring up our economy and putting it back on the right track. So health-care reform and reducing taxes and reining in spending has got to accompany tax reductions and tax relief for Americans. And trade, we’ve got to see trade as opportunity, not as a competitive, scary thing. But one in five jobs being created in the trade sector today, we’ve got to look at that as more opportunity. All those things under the umbrella of job creation. This bailout is a part of that."

- Sarah Palin (Idiot), days before dropping out of the 2008 Presidential race for "family reasons", September 2008

Comedy = Reality with the Republican Party - The Party That Wrecked America. And again, easily the worst VP candidate ever - Sarah Palin (Idiot)

End this.

Now.

Seriously.

End this.

Now.

Sarah Palin (Idiot), the soon-to-be former VP candidate for the flailing and failing GOP, and an embarassing footnote in US history, on SNL

McCain Camp insiders say Palin "clueless"

The campaign has held a mock debate and a mock press conference; both are being described as "disastrous." One senior McCain aide was quoted as saying, "What are we going to do?" The McCain people want to move this first debate to some later, undetermined date, possibly never. People on the inside are saying the Alaska Governor is "clueless."
