So the GOP spent $150,000 on clothes for Sarah Palin. LET THEM EAT CAKE!!!!

Like I said, if you're going to go down in flames, go down big.

You will be shocked at the electoral count in a couple of weeks. You'll be shocked at the hard-core GOP states that go blue.

Why?

Because John McCain, Rick Davis and Sarah Palin ran the worst presidential campaign in modern times. A campaign so out of touch with what's going on in America, that you get things like this.

And blowing $150,000 on clothes (my god, that's actually hard to do) was just par for the course.

LET THE BASTARDS EAT CAKE! MCCAIN/PALIN 2008.

(side note since the MSM won't report it - that $150,000 must be treated as ordinary income for Palin and taxed accordingly. At the 28% bracket that's $42,000 cash that the hockey mom will need to come up with. Any other treatment would be pure tax fraud, and Palin would be liable for fines and jail)

Gov. Sarah Palin's wardrobe has provoked admiration and envy. Politico has now uncovered evidence that the Republican National Committee paid $150,000 for a shopping spree that started in early September "to clothe and accessorize" the governor and her family. It's all there, buried in federal financial disclosure records, including:

* $49,425.74 from Saks Fifth Avenue in St. Louis and New York
* A $75,062.63 spree at Neiman Marcus in Minneapolis, site of the GOP convention

That's more than the $125,000 that Alaska taxpayers pay the governor.

Why so much money? What a bunch of idiots. They coulda had her buy her clothes at Marshalls, JCPenney's or what not and totally sell that she's just folk. Just another sham. And just another blunder. Worst fuckin' campaign ever? You Betcha!

Wow, $150K - that sure is a lot of money for most people. Hey Keith, is $2 million more than 150K? That's what the Obama campaign has paid to Biden's relatives (so far) for their services as "consultants".

Your hypocrisy is showing Keith.

Since it's for the Rebupblican candidate, Joe Six-Pack will be expected to understand. She's doing it for us! She's doing it for America, for God and Country!

Seriously, $150K at Saks on full-price items doesn't go all that far.

I don't think anyone will be shocked by a landslide.

Republicans gave up this election two years ago.

The same voters in the middle elect the president every single election. The people who put W. in office will now knight Obama.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a 15-20% margin of victory. It could be over before the polls close in California.

Don't all hockey moms spend that much on clothes?

I'm still stuck on the fact she STILL hasn't learned the duties of the Vice President.

Now that's just plain lazy, stupid and arrogant.

Please everyone, send these folks into retirement. Please.

You're a joke Keith. I used to think you were somewhat of an impartial commentator but you're just as bad as any right or left slanted media outlet.

How much has Obama spent on clothing, grooming, limos for himself and his family? I don't see him cruising around in a cheap second hand suit.

You're a total hypocrite.

Anonymous said...

Wait a second you Obamanaut dumbasses...

Isn't clothing and grooming another part of the public relations of a political campaign? How is it so different to campaign advertising?

Are you saying that the Obama campaign doesn't spend a significant amount of money making sure that Obama and Biden plus their families look well clothed and well groomed at all times?

Grow a f*cking brain and gain some perspective you morons.

And stop being such pathetic partisan tools.

The truth is that there is no real difference between the two parties. Either way you get:

Tell you what. Show me that Obama spent $150,000 of DONOR money on clothes, and you win. Or even $10,000.

I doubt he spent a dime. I bet he buys his own damn suits, as he should.

When the economy is tanking, and people can't pay their bills, to spend $150k on clothes for the hockey mom is the height of incompetence.

I've never seen a worse campaign.

And remember the republicans who roasted John Edwards for a $400 haircut?

Paybacks are a bitch.

And anyone in the GOP who defends this one shows you that they can defend anything.

If Sarah Palin's $150,000 wardrobe had a life of its own, it would get a tax cut from a President Obama.

Brings to mind the old adage:

'You can't make a silk purse from a sow's ear.'

The McCain campaign putting image over substance by 'sexing-up' an inferior product.

Madison Avenue campaign tactics?

A pig is still a pig.

Palins a douche. Her whole family is an embarrassment to America, but she IS the Worse.

$150K? on clothes?

Ive had some nice prostitutes in my time, and believe me MUCH better looking than Mooseturd and Ive never spent more than $ 1K per night.

With my economic experience with hookers, maybe I can get a job running the Bailout program?

Sarah Palin was asked by a 3rd grader, "what does a Vice President do?" Palin got it wrong!

Here is the lone duty of the Vice President of the United States:

"The Vice President of the United States shall be President of the Senate, but shall have no Vote, unless they be equally divided."

How stupid, lazy and arrogant can a person be?

Okay McCain supporters. Defend that. Dump all over the 3rd grader's question. Make the 3rd grader cry.

Was it too hard? Was the 3rd grader asking a gotcha question?

Pathetic. Simply pathetic.

Funny after watching the VP debate I turned to my husband and commented that Sarah's daughter piper had a VERY expensive jacket for a five year old. I said to my husband where do they shop for clothes like this in Alaska? I found it all to weird.
Sarah I am sure your Joe Six Packs and Hockey Moms can relate to a three month shopping spree that is over 150,000 dollars. Shame on them.
Still I ask the question WHY ISN'T SARAH PALIN RELEASING HER MEDICAL RECORDS...WHAT IS SHE HIDING???? I DO NOT BELIEVE THE BABY TRIG IS SARAH...I SAID IT FROM THE BEGINING...NO WAY 5 MONTHS PREG. AND A FLAT STOMACH. NO WAY.

MICHELLE OBAMA WORE THE CUTEST DRESS ON THE VIEW. IT WAS PRICED UNDER 150.00 FROM THE BLACK AND WHITE STORE. FAR CRY FROM SAKS AND NEIMAN. AND YOU JACKASSES WHO FIND THIS OK, YOU PROBABLY NEVER STEP A FOOT IN NEIMAN OR SAKS OR BARNEYS. MUST FEEL REALLY DUMB THAT YOU FELL FOR SARAH.

Once again. An argument of who is correct and who isn't.

Keith I have said it before and I will say it again. You gained credit talking about housing and you were correct. You gained credit by being smart. You stood against socialism and were pist it was coming in the waves it has the past few months.

Now you sound like you want to be to Obama what Monica was to Clinton. I don't mean to call you a little bitch, but you are being one. You are the last one that I would have though would have chosen either side. But for some reason now you want more government and Obama. You have been bitching about government for how long and with everything you have said you support Obama?

Now I am not saying that I support McCain. Be very clear I don't support either McCain or Obama. I think that you would not be loosing respect Keith if you would just keep on the path you have always been on.

By the way, don't forget to pay your taxes on your little tip jar over at HP.

Hey Anonydouche, have somebody read the article to you again. Joe Biden's presidential campaign, not the Obama campaign, hired firms associated with Biden family members. The Obama campaign has not paid any money for the services of any member of the Biden family.

Your "shit sandwich" smells like typical republican bullshit.

What are the chances that she'll NEVER pay the appropriate taxes on those clothes? Or have the campaign pay the taxes?

ALMOST CERTAIN.

By the way, to those who think Obama uses campaign money to buy clothes--obviously you haven't seen the RECENT picture of him with holes in the soles of his shoes!

When the Republiklans steal this election, I hope that $150,000 is a deduction from her first year's salary as VP (or President, perhaps.)

Or maybe Neiman Marcus (Needless Markup) will make a pig, er, I mean big, political donation to cover it.

First--Use "you're" not "your" when you are contracting you are rather than using the possessive pronoun your. You also need a comma between right and man.

Second--The second sentance is a statement of your opinion and not at all a sarcastic comment. "No one could ever conclude that Biden is a peice (sic) of shit from reading this article," would be sarcastic given your opinion. Also remember i before e except after c.

Third--Learn how to write and spell before you go around calling people "fucking idiots."

Are all the anons retarded? read what I said and then do the math. I said that $150k could cover my LIVING EXPENSES for THREE OR FOUR YEARS. That means I can pay my bills for twelve months for between $38K-$50K. All my bills-rent, gas, utilities, food, etc, for a whole year for $50k or less. Get it now? I was being sarcastic when I said $150k was chump change. Ask Anon 5:54PM what sarcasm is. I think he has just looked it up.

I saw someone on TV call this "The accessorizing and clothes of Caribou Barbie". Could not stop laughing. She, and McSame are wasting their money and time. They have greater odds of walking in to the local gas station, buying a lottery ticket and winning the big one than being elected to the highest office.

One good thing about the stock market plummeting daily is the fact it is reminding people with a hammer every morning why to NOT vote Republican.

I don't know about yelling your point in all caps. But, I see your point. And like many other things throughout this nutty season called the campaign, it just shows yet another example of good judgement by Obama. So many little things have built up over time, that have convinced me that he is the best choice.

I don't think she would have to pay taxes if she doesn't keep it and give oit to charity instead. She hasn't received it as a private person yet, more as a job outfit.

Ugh, I'm going back to HousingPanic. I don't know if you're the same people on this blog, but WOW do you all suck. I don't think anyone here is capable of having an intelligent political debate.

Keith,
This is an embarrassment. I hope I can forget all about what I read here and continue to enjoy HousingPanic for all it's brilliance. Maybe I'm just wasting my time saying this, but this blog has no credibility and is "hurting us." I say that in the same context as Jon Stewart did about "Crossfire" back in '05.

If anyone wants to have a real political debate, I'm all for it.

As far as the wardrobe goes, this is another bad PR moment for the McCain campaign for an increasingly out-of-touch GOP. I am still voting McCain, but I am not impressed with this ticket. I want to like them more than I do. I suspect that they'll all start shopping at the Gap pretty soon to avoid the wrath of middle class Americans, who are really hurting right now.
