FLASH: Right wing guru Zakaria calls McCain's selection of Palin "Fundamentally irresponsible", calls Palin "dangerously ignorant" and "scary"
And the pressure builds.
The ONLY way McCain keeps this race competitive is to dump Palin now. Today. This minute.
McCain himself should now withdraw, for making such a stupid and reckless pick. He is an embarrassment to himself, to his party and to his country. And the GOP supporters who still support Sarah Palin should also be embarrassed and ashamed. They're as stupid and dangerously ignorant as Sarah Palin. Which is saying a lot.
It's nice to see there are still a few adults left in the Republican party. Unlike Hannity and Rush and all the other idiots who fell in line behind Palin, the dumbest and most unqualified vice presidential pick of all time.
Zakaria: McCain's VP decision is 'fundamentally irresponsible'
In a column appearing in Newsweek, world affairs expert and author Fareed Zakaria said he thinks it would be best for Republican presidential hopeful John McCain if Gov. Sarah Palin bowed out as his vice presidential running mate.
Zakaria says McCain did not put the country first in making his V.P. choice, and he says Palin is not qualified to lead the United States.
CNN spoke to him about his commentary titled, "Palin is ready? Please."
CNN: What did you initially think when Sarah Palin was announced as the Republican vice presidential nominee?
Zakaria: I was a bit surprised -- as I think most people were. But I was willing to give her a chance. And I thought her speech at the convention was clever and funny. But once she began answering questions about economics and foreign policy, it became clear that she has simply never thought about these subjects before and is dangerously ignorant and unprepared for the job of vice president, let alone president.
CNN: You don't think she is qualified?
Zakaria: No. Gov. Palin has been given a set of talking points by campaign advisers, simple ideological mantras that she repeats and repeats as long as she can. But if forced off those rehearsed lines, what she has to say is often, quite frankly -- nonsense. Just listen to her response to Katie Couric's question about the bailout. It's gibberish -- an emptying out of catchphrases about economics that have nothing to do with the question or the topic. It's scary to think that this person could be running the country.

If Palin is as cunning as some claim, a President Palin and her husband will call a lot of shots on their own, at least for a while,so maybe we should be worried about a Palinocracy.
Smart man. Prescient.
He knows if given the chance, Americans will shit in their own mess kit: ie: McCain-Palin.
Don't be fooled.
Mash McCain and Pulverize Palin.
Unfit to Lead
McCain can't dump her for the simple reason that the most powerful person in the GOP simply LURRRRRRRVVVVEEESS him some Palin.
That person is Rush Limbaugh.
Read the growing chorus of anti-Palin material appearing in, of all place, the ultra-right-wing National Review. Rush had campaigned against McCain all the way to June, claiming at one point that he would "go out and back Hilary Clinton" rather than McCain. To get Rush back on board, McCain had to throw him a significant bone: Palin. Someone that Rush could "sell" to his clueless ditto-heads; someone as gullible, stupid and disconnected from reality as they are.
So when the GOP is left to pick up the pieces from the disaster that's coming, you can start tracing the debacle that cost you 12 seats in the Senate and 45 seats in Congress, as well as the White House, to an arrogant pill-popping demagogue who really doesn't care about the U.S., only about maintaining his ratings points.
Thanks, David. I was in danger of thinking that there might be a critical mass of voters with minds of their own going to the polls in November, but you have returned me to reality. It will take a more powerful set of shocks to wake most people out of their stupor.
