[Repost from HP June 2008] - HousingPANIC would like to congratulate Barack Hussein Obama on winning the Presidency of the United States of America

In light of current events, as well as the the thumping McCain/Palin is taking in the projected electoral count as of tonight, I thought I'd repost this thread from HousingPANIC back in June to get some new perspectives.

Have at it.

(You get tomorrow's news today here at HP, so figured we'd skip forward a few months and just let you know how it's gonna be just a bit down the road...)

HP'ers, please join me in wishing President-elect Obama well after his landslide win tonight.

Even though we may disagree with some of his policies, the nation has overwhelmingly voted for a change, and change we will now have.

Also a big congratulations goes out to the voters for putting the past awful eight years and The Worst President Ever behind us, allowing for a re-introduction of the American brand to the world.

These are exciting and historic days for our nation, but oh, what a mess Obama and the overwhelmingly Democratic-controlled Congress will have on their hands. Let's see if they're up to the task. And hey, they can't possibly screw it up worse than the Republicans did. Right?

I am so nervous over this election. When I hear those words i will cry.
Historical day in America....
A day for change....
I hope Keith eveything will be ok on Nov. 4th.

Everything won't be ok on Nov. 4. But it will be a start in the right direction - away from the ignorant, thieving, self-serving, pig-headed policies of the Bush-League.
Hooray for Obama. Yay, us.
And God Bless America.

You're right, they can't possibly screw up things any worse than this administration - however, they can screw up the election, just at the last minute. That's what scares me. This has practically been handed to the Democrats on a silver platter and I'm just sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for how they'll find a way to mess it up.

Even the KKK is backing Obama! No shit, they are contributing $250K to the Obama campaign and are planning to run pro-Obama TV ads in some southern markets.

The Grand Dragon wants Obama as President so Hillary will have less of a shot in 2012. See he really is a uniter, hope will fill every pot, and the lion will lay down with the lamb.

LOL

I can't wait for obama to be elected and the rest of the world to like us again.

I hear he is releasing another book right after the elections.

they certainly can! Obama has been talking about increasing troop levels in Afghanistan and marching into Pakistan to find OBL.

Pelosi, Schumer, Dodd, Frank and Clinton can screw things up a lot more than you're willing to give them credit for. There will be many more $700 billion bailouts in the not too distant future.
Got vote for anybody but the criminals that are currently in control. Don't forget, it was mostly Democrats who gave your money to rich bankers against the will of the people.

Obama vs. Osama. Yeah, I like the sound of that.

The KKK is a very evil organization and I do not want to hear anything about them.

Listen, Obama voted for the bailout plan. That is all you need to know. He is just another monkey on a string. Period.

subheadline on Nov 5th:

Bushco-Cheneyburton indicted for multiple major felonies. Arraignment tomorrow. Passports revoked due to flight risk. Chenyburton detained at Andrews Air Force Base. Bushco detained as he walked up to a kiosk and attempted to purchase a one-way ticket to Paraguay...

Exit polls on Nov. 4th show 99.999%of Americans want a 'speedy trial'

I'd add to this by saying "Congratulations to the Republicans for pre-winning a two-thirds majority in both houses of Congress, and the White House, by 2012"

Let's wager. Not only will McCain win, but he will win by a significant margin.

Why? Because when it comes down to it, Americans are not going to vote for a black man who may or may not be a Muslim, may or may not be associated with domestic terrorists, and who has no relevant experience in government, other than as a community agitator, I mean, organizer.

I am not a McCain fan. I think that, like Bush, he was given a pass throughout life because of his high level family connections. Incidents that would have ended careers for the average person were excused for McCain.

We had some pretty good candidates, too, so I don't know how we ended up with McCain. The worst of the lot. But, he will be elected. We have no choice.

Lay off Palin. What you don't like is that she is a Christian, with mainstream religious values.

People with such a visceral reaction to religious people usually are practicing a lifestyle that they don't want "judged."

Am I on to something?

But Keith is an idiot, a shill for the Democratic Party. He probably does not even know that Hank Paulson is a Democrat.

On HP he pretended to be a Reagan Republican.
